Geology of the Leningrad Region

We are offering to our participants a course of lections and master classes devoted to different areas of geology: Stratigraphy, Paleontology, Historical Geology, Lithology, Geoarchitecture, Geotourism etc.

In practical classes students will be able to diagnose their own the Paleozoic invertebrates of Leningrad region and Ichnofossils (Trace fossils) of Baltoscandia. They will be also able to determine main types of facies of the Paleozoic sediments of Leningrad region, design and read stratigraphical drawing, draw paleogeographical maps.

In the addition to the main program participants will be able to visit the main geological monuments of Leningrad region: "Canyon of the rivers Sablinka and Tosna with sample outcrops of the Lower Paleozoic sediments", "Radon lakes and area of the formation of modern travertines" etc. They will also have an excursion in Saint Petersburg "Natural stone in the objects of the Cultural and Hystorical heritage in Saint Petersburg".

Students, postgraduate students and young scientists by specialities ", "Geology", "Paleontology and stratigraphy", "Lithology", "Geography", "Geoarchaeology" are invited to participate.
