Modern technology for open cast mining

International summer school programme «Modern technology for open cast mining» is developed by members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Mining University in collaboration with representatives of «Caterpillar» and «Zeppelin». A course of lectures and practical workshops on «Caterpillar» heavy equipment simulators is offered to participants. Simulators allow you to learn advanced management and operation skills in real-world operating conditions in order to achieve optimal efficiency, profitability and safety of equipment.

During practical trainings participants will learn modern methods of rational organization of processes for technical maintenance and repair of equipment, as well as learn methods of technical audit of enterprises of the mineral complex, aimed at continuous improvement of production processes.

As part of this programme, participants will be able to visit the Caterpillar Tosno Manufacturing Facility, specializing in the production of components for large-size machines and their final adjustment, and will also be able to see the «Caterpillar» equipment live at a real enterprise.

Students, postgraduates, young scientists of technical specialties and representatives of the mining industry are invited to participate.
