The purpose of the program is the generation of knowledge and practical skills in the field of advanced trends of the development of power supply systems in the world based on digital technologies.

Modern industrialization trends, the introduction of digital technologies and the growth of the population of large cities of 2.5 billion people by 2050 will cause an increase in electricity demand by 80%. The role of intellectual energy is crucial for the whole world, a qualitative change in the nature of global and local energy systems based on digital technologies will increase their environmental friendliness and efficiency against the background of limited resource base.The most significant problem for the development of modern society is the overloaded and outdated power grid complex. The summer school examines energy and digital technologies that open up the possibility of transforming modern enterprises within the framework of the “Industry 4.0” concept.

As part of the program, participants will train their practical skills in the selection and operation of modern equipment for energy systems and complexes. They will visit enterprises of generation, distribution and consumption of electrical and heat energy of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and form basic knowledge in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency in the power industry.

Students can take part in organizational and technological work on the comprehensive improvement of energy efficiency and resource saving at enterprises, substantiate the structure and equipment of modern electrical systems and systems.
