About

The Faculty of Energy was formed in February 2020 by separating four departments from the Faculty of Electromechanics. The faculty includes the Department of Electricity and Electromechanics (graduating), the Department of General Electrical Engineering, the Department of Electronic Systems (graduating), the Department of Heat Engineering and Thermal Power Engineering (graduating), as well as educational laboratories, the Faculty Academic Council, other councils and commissions. The faculty leadership includes the dean of the faculty, four deputy deans for the main areas of activity and the inspector of the dean's office.

The departments of the faculty and the dean's office, with the exception of the department of general electric power industry, are located in the Training Center No. 2, and the department of general electric power industry in the Educational Center No. 3. The faculty carries out educational activities in the following specialties and areas of study: electronics and nanoelectronics (bachelor's and master's programs), thermal power engineering and heat engineering (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate studies), electric power and electrical engineering (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate studies); radio-electronic systems and complexes (specialty), mining (specialty in electrification of mining enterprises), radio engineering (postgraduate studies), as well as on the formation of additional competencies of students related to their future professional activities and according to the programs of further vocational education related to the specifics of the faculty.

The main areas of scientific activity of the faculty are improving the energy efficiency of electrical and radio-electronic complexes and systems of enterprises of the mineral resource complex, the development of industrial heat engineering and heat power systems, the stability of the functioning of electrical complexes in the harsh climatic conditions of the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as devices and systems based on renewable energy.
The faculty has a highly qualified teaching staff and a modern high-tech educational and laboratory base, which ensures the conduct of educational and scientific activities at a high level.
