In the course of training under this program, students profoundly study the thermophysical foundations of high-temperature metallurgical processes, information technologies for managing these processes, the design of metallurgical furnaces for processing mineral natural and technogenic raw materials of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, the principles of furnace design, modeling and optimization of pyrometallurgical processes and prospects for the development of thermal units for metallurgical production. Students are trained for making independent solutions of professional tasks in research, production and teaching activities.
Pyrometallurgy is the main and best-developed field of metallurgy;
There is high demand for pyrometallurgical technology specialists in the job market;
High wages and social protection in metallurgical professions (technologists, designers, researchers, managers);
Broad opportunities for scientific research.
Graduates of this specialization are able to participate in the formation of the main directions of development of national pyrometallurgy working in leading research centers; they occupy high engineering and executive positions in major companies and design organizations involved in the development and implementation of pyrometallurgical technologies for producing non-ferrous metals.
