In the process of training under this program, students get the opportunity to participate in developments in the field of materials technology, conduct research in the field of materials science, assess the degree of technogenic impact of modern materials and their production processes on the natural environment. Students also master the lifecycle methods of products from nanomaterials with application of coatings, master the skills of working on a modern instrument base to determine the structure and properties of materials and coatings, learn how to independently develop guidelines for sample preparation and study the structure and properties of materials, nanomaterials and coatings.
Students are given the opportunity to participate in international and all-Russian conferences and competitions, undergo internship abroad and test their skills in teaching; which increases their professional experience and scientific horizons;
Annual increase in demand for qualified materials scientists among employers;
A material scientist who has received the necessary qualifications can count on a well-paid position in cross-cutting professional activities in the field of material science for the technological cycle of modern materials, as well as in the field of research and development in the field of materials and their technologies;
The work of a material scientist is multifaceted and includes various activities, of both research and technological character.
The field of professional activity of the graduate includes: • Education and science (scientific research) • Cross-cutting types of professional activity (materials science of the technological cycle of production of multidimensional nano-metals and nano-ceramics, alloys and compounds, composites based on them and products from them, etc.) Graduates of the speciality are employed as materials scientists, leading material scientists, engineers at such enterprises as National Agency for the Development of Qualifications, N.I. Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod, SRPTI NNGU, Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, G.V. Kurdyumov Institute of Metal Science and Metal Physics, Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Informatics, NPO Elan-Praktik, Kurchatov Institute Research Center / Central Prometey Research Institute, JSC CSRIM, Polymetal JSC and others.
