In the process of training in this speciality, students get acquainted with the properties of natural gas and gas equipment; the basics of operating gas equipment and technological nodes of gas distribution and gas consumption networks; with the main and auxiliary processes of natural gas transport in gas distribution and gas consumption networks,; the principles of selecting gas equipment based on calculations; they study measures for the design, construction and repair of gas distribution and gas consumption networks, methods of combating hydrate sampling formation in the gas distribution networks and gas consumption, as well as measures to prevent gas leaks and emergencies.

Ability to formulate and solve practical problems arising during staff meetings (planning meetings) and in monitoring gas transport in gas distribution and gas consumption networks;
Ability to carry out gas-hazardous and hot work during the repair of technological units of gas equipment in order to ensure safe operation of gas equipment;
Ability to identify and assess possible risks of an accident and determine the terms of safe operation of the gas equipment of gas distribution networks and gas consumption;
Ability to develop new technologies for the prevention of complications and accidents during the transport of natural gas in gas distribution and gas consumption networks, protection of the subsoil and the environment.
