Students of the specialization “Construction of underground facilities” study a wide range of issues related to the design, construction, geotechnical substantiation and construction of underground structures (transport tunnels, metro facilities, underground storage facilities, underground parking lots, special-purpose underground structures); they consider the feasibility studies of their construction, as well as carry out exploratory and basic scientific research aimed at developing new efficient structures and materials for underground facilities, methods for calculating the structures of underground facilities, methods for evaluating the impact of underground structures on urban development objects.
Working in interesting and unique projects in the field of construction of underground structures;
An integrated approach (surveys, design, construction, operation) in the implementation of projects for the construction of underground structures forms a diversified specialist;
Underground facilities are built everywhere; the choice of place of work according to geography is practically unlimited;
Use of advanced mathematical methods and physical models for the design of underground structures, as well as modern software systems for geotechnical and strength calculations;
Relevance of the construction of underground structures, especially when developing the underground space of cities, keeps growing.
After completing the training in this specialization, graduates can work as a: Taskmaster, foreman, section chief, construction manager, technical supervision specialist (specialists working in the field of underground construction); Design engineer, head of the design team, head of the design department, chief engineer of the project, chief engineer (specialists involved in the design of underground structures); Researcher, head of laboratory, head of research center or laboratory (specialists engaged in research activities).
