A special feature of this specialization is the preparation of graduates who can:
- Justify the strategy of integrated and effective development of the underground space based on the analysis and evaluation of fundamental technical solutions from the standpoint of their innovativeness;
- Carry out a feasibility study of the conditions of construction, investment; to choose the space-planning solution and the main parameters of the engineering structures of underground facilities, to calculate them for strength, stability and deformability, to choose materials for the engineering structures of underground and mining buildings and structures on the surface;
- Develop technological schemes and a construction schedule, make a choice of the method, equipment and technology for mining and construction works, focusing on innovative developments, provide technological and environmental safety, draw up the necessary technical and financial documentation; and
- Perform a feasibility study, comprehensively substantiate the decisions made and being implemented, look for opportunities to improve mining and construction works, help provide the enterprise’s departments with the necessary technical data, documents, materials, equipment, participate in research, development of projects and programs of the construction organization.
